This is the actual chair President Abraham Lincoln was sitting in at Ford’s Theatre when he was assasinated. It was in a tiny display case and was really hard to get a shot of that included the whole chair.

Architect Thomas U. Walter designed desks and chairs for the House of Representatives in 1857. Members complained that the chairs were too cumbersome, and many were sold two years later. The matching desks were sold with the remaining chairs in 1873.
