A Common Grackle wondering why the House Finch won’t eat the little white seeds faster so he can have the sunflower seeds.

This is from a couple weeks ago. Switched over to just Safflower seeds in this feeder and now the Grackles leave it alone.

A name change isn’t going to help them much. I didn’t menoitn it, but one of their bad bird habits is to uuh remove the heads of young birds. (Thankfully, we’ve only found one bird like this) I think the theory is they are trying to keep the competition for food down. Even if we did not feed the birds, there are so any natural food sources around us, but tell that to a grackle.
