Make America Feckless Again

feckless

ADJECTIVE

  • Lacking initiative or strength of character; irresponsible.

With the ugly, completely foreseen consequences of President Trump‘s newest policy on immigration, which essentially amounts to, “Fuck ’em all,” the President did what he does best.

He held a one hour meeting with the Republican toadies where he managed to say absolutely nothing while convincing both sides he is on their side.

Some lawmakers emerged from the hour-long huddle adamant Trump had endorsed a compromise measure that would allow families to remain together.
But others were more equivocal, saying Trump only expressed support for any bill that arrives on his desk — either the compromise plan or a more conservative version whose prospects appear dim.

And just to make things clear as mud,

The White House said afterward Trump “endorsed both House immigration bills….”

The only times President Trump and his minions actually choose a side is when they’re reserving a special place in hell for Canada, the enemy of human rights, while insanely declaring North Korea is peachy keen and its champion.

When I was working immigration on the border, separating families was the last of last resorts. They’re caught. They’re going home. Throwing in some good, old fashioned cruelty just for kicks is the exact opposite of what the United States used to stand for.

Washington Capitals Even It Up

The Washington Capitals fixed most of their game 1 woes to beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 in game 2. Smart play and outstanding goaltending from the Caps evened the series up at a game apiece heading in to D.C.

Just how good was the Caps Braden Holtby in net last night?

Pretty darn amazing! That was certainly the stop that saved the game for Washington. Now it remains to be seen which Capitals team shows up for game 3.

RIP Alan Bean

One of my most early childhood memories is my entire family sitting in the family room, glued to the flickering black and white images on the television. I’m not entirely sure I knew what all those images were, but I did understand I was seeing people do amazing things, I was seeing history unfold, and I was witnessing the dawning of a new age.

This Memorial Day weekend started with the death of the fourth human being to ever walk on the Moon, Alan Bean. This Memorial Day I’m thinking of those heroes that have gone on, the four heroes that are still here, Buzz Aldrin, Dave Scott, Charlie Duke and Harrison “Jack” Schmitt, and the unfulfilled promises of human exploration they left behind.

Still here

And still procrastinating about putting stuff up. I’m trying to get motivated… honest!

Second good cold snap here, but this one doesn’t look like it’s leaving anytime soon. Brr!
